Build Your Own Starting Solids Class for the Feeding Therapist
Starting solids can be a nerve wracking experience, especially for families who have struggled with breastfeeding. If you’ve built a practice on providing infant feeding support, you already know the immense potential a starting solids class has to engage your community and ease your clients through this major developmental milestone.
Want to learn how to build a thriving starting solids class to incorporate into your practice? We can show you how. Our course Building Blocks to Solids Masterclass for Providers will give you everything you need to begin.
Taking time away from patients to develop a class from scratch can be challenging and costly. We’ve done the market research, gone through the iteration process, and taken in feedback, so you don’t have to.
Enrollees will receive a class structure outline, a list of key tools, beautifully designed client-facing printables, and complete presentation materials. We’ll take you through the process step-by-step so you can start offering a starting solids class within days of completing the course.
Who should take the masterclass?
This class is designed to enrich practices for feeding therapists with a specialty in infant feeding. This includes pediatric occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists.
Our class design has originated in the outpatient private practice setting, but you may collaborate with your local medical institutions and adapt to your facility's needs.
I am an IBCLC, is this the right class for me?
Educating families on the signs of readiness for starting solids, how to protect milk supply and facilitate the breastfeeding relationship is of utmost importance. We find that many questions that come up during the class sessions are best answered by pediatric occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists under their scope of practice. We just so happen to have expertise in those fields.
If you are an IBCLC interested in starting classes of your own, email us with your top ideas of interest and how we can best support your practice!
While we can’t provide you with additional credentials, think of us as consulting experts with a wealth of knowledge to share with all feeding practitioners.
Participating providers will be offered in a directory on our website that you may share with the families you serve!
I don’t live in Florida. Can I still take the course?
Yes! Our course is available digitally, so you can attend from anywhere in the world.
